The Maillot Jaune Club is renowned for the popularity of it's social calendar throughout each year.

Club events attract keynote speakers and cycling celebrities from home and abroad.

Early bookings are recommended.

Australia's 'Young Guns' 
Godfrey Slattery and Conor Rowley have been guests of Maillot Jaune at our Annual Young Guns Lunch. The commitee plan to invite other 'Young Guns' during 2017. 

Members wishing to support individuals or the team can obtain information from Cycling Australia or though individual websites or social media.

The Australian Commonwealth Games Association's Gold Coast GOLD 2018 Team Preparation program will help to ensure that Cycling Australia's cyclists receive the best access to training and competition opportunities, equipment and world-class athlete support services in the lead up to the Games.

Victorian Cycling Hall of Fame Awards Presentation Dinner, RACV Club.

The 2016 Hall of Fame presentation dinner, held on Friday 18 March in the Pavilion Room, RACV Club Melbourne was a resounding success and enjoyed by all attendees. The Maillot Jaune, in conjunction with Cycling Victoria, welcomed the following inductees to the Victorian Cycling Hall of Fame.

Remo Sansonetti

With a cycling career spanning from 1963-1982, Remo was a great Victorian and Australian cyclist. He was a three time Olympian, three times Commonwealth Games representative, three times Australian Amateur Road Champion, nine times winner 100km teams Australian Time Trial Championship, winner of six day and many 12 hour Madisons, three times winner of the gruelling tour of Tasmania, first and fastest Grafton-Inverell. Remo and twin brother Sal had the honour of leading Australia as flag bearers at the 1978 Edmonton Commonwealth Games. Remo still rides for recreation.

Sal Sansonetti 
With a cycling career spanning from 1963-1982, Sal was also a great Victorian and Australian cyclist. His results parallel twin brother Remo, being an Olympian, Commonwealth Games representative, Australian and Victorian Champion on road and track, six day results in Italy as well as many 12 hour Madisons (not always with Remo), five time winner 100km teams Australian Time Trial Championship. Sal was a great competitor who always raced to win. He still rides regularly on most weekends and holidays.

Ray Bowles
With more than 60 years continuous contribution to cycling, as a rider, coach and mentor to many junior riders plus many years as events officer for Cycling Victoria. Ray was awarded Life Membership of Cycling Victoria in 2003.

However, Ray is perhaps best known as a great photographer of cycling events, his work has featured in cycling magazines and newspapers around Australia.

Ray is now an active member of Victorian Cycling History and Heritage Committee.

Karen O’Callaghan
With more than 40 years experience as a cycling official from club level to Commissaire at World UCI events, Karen is one of only twenty-two people in the world, and only the 3rd woman, to be a UCI Commissaire in the three categories of Road, Track and Para-Cycling, an amazing achievement.

 

Karen was awarded Life Membership of Cycling Victoria in 1997.

Our MC for the evening was the very professional and well known Ian Maher.

Entertainment was provided by the extremely funny Marty Fields. How did he remember the names of all those countries?

We very much appreciate the help given by Bossman Media with the preparation of the audio visual presentations for Hall of Fame inductees and other guests.

 

Swiss national champion Franco Marvulli recently entertained the Maillot Jaune lunch. The Maillot Jaune Commitee continues to ensure national and international guests are invited to our lunches each year. 

















MC Peter Meehan inteviewed Australian legend Shane Kelly and Dave Sanders, former Australian Cycling Senior Coach, at a recent Maillot Jaune lunch. Guests were treated to top stories from Shane, and future forecasts by Dave Sanders.
